The short answer

High spending can support a reward strategy, but subscriptions and credits still need to match your actual habits.

The scenario: £60,000 annual eligible spending

Imagine someone who regularly dines out, uses paid digital services and travels occasionally. The £60,000 spending figure is illustrative and is not a target, an eligibility guarantee or evidence that a top-tier package will pay for itself.

The everyday anchor: compare Max, Premium, Metal and Ultra

Monzo Max costs £228/year before the family upgrade and lists everyday benefits such as a Railcard, cinema tickets and selected subscriptions. Revolut Premium (£8.99/month), Metal (£16.99/month) and Ultra (£60/month) provide different partner bundles verified on the UK subscriptions page. Compare the services you already pay for with the exact included tiers before choosing one.

Begin with one plan. Confirm Revolut’s current UK fee and billing option at checkout rather than using a promotional or inconsistent headline price. A bundle should replace existing spending, not create a new set of habits just to use it.

The optional addition: Platinum only for a distinct use case

Platinum’s £650 fee may deserve investigation when dining and travel benefits meet habits not served by your first plan. Dining credits require enrolment and participating venues; the current described programme is time-limited through 31 December 2026.

Max at £228 plus Platinum at £650 creates £878 of recurring annual fees before other costs or upgrades. That figure is a hurdle, not a claim of savings. If Platinum is only adding a second lounge entitlement and unused insurance, the extra fee needs rethinking.

Audit after three months, then before renewal

Record benefits redeemed, old subscriptions cancelled and spending you would have made anyway. Unused benefits get no realised value. Do not add a subscription’s full retail price when you only replaced a cheaper tier.

Use Perkfolio’s spending projection to compare reward estimates, but do not equate spending with profit. Remove duplicate benefits, compare annual fees and check a recurring-year scenario. Never carry interest-bearing debt for points.
